About Us

Cardinal Funding Services, Inc. was founded by three friends who independently recognized the growing need for working capital in small businesses. This idea, traditionally known as factoring, was popular in the hey-day of manufacturing throughout the Carolinas. The basic premise of factoring is the acceleration of invoice payment by a third party to a business that can ill afford to wait the “standard” sixty days to be paid by a large customer.

Based in Charlotte North Carolina, Cardinal Funding Services was created to serve companies primarily in this region of the United States. The three principals of the company have extensive experience in banking, finance and receivables management. All are veteran business executives who identified factoring as a way to serve the types of companies that they previously served throughout their business careers.

Chris Elliott, RMA-CRC is the founder and owner of Glandon Capital Group, LLC, a specialty finance platform that has completed a wide variety of loan origination, servicing, distressed debt, brokerage and alternative lending transactions in the commercial and community bank industry. Prior to Glandon, Chris began his banking career at NCNB and spent 11 years with Centura Bank and RBC Centura in Charlotte and Atlanta and holds the Credit Risk Certified designation from the RMA (Risk Management Association).

John Georgius, Jr. is an entrepreneur and investor who has been involved with numerous small businesses throughout his career. Most recently, John was CFO of a healthcare receivables outsourcing company that he, along with two co-investors, acquired, expanded and later successfully sold to the largest healthcare receivables firm in the country. John and his wife Sherrard are active in the Charlotte community. They are co-founders of the Dreamcatchers Society, a fund-raising organization benefitting the Levine Children’s Hospital. They also co-founded the Duke Mansion Preservation Society. John is currently on the advisory board of Carolinas Healthcare System and is Vice Chairman of the Carolinas Healthcare Foundation. He is a former board member of the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency.

Malcolm “Mac” Everett, III spent 35 years with major financial services organizations, including senior leadership roles in business planning and financial management. He is active in the Charlotte philanthropic community and currently serves on numerous for-profit and not for-profit boards. Previous leadership positions include Senior Executive Vice President of Wachovia Corporation and Chairman of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and North Carolina Chamber of Commerce. He also has served as Chairman of the following organizations: YMCA of Greater Charlotte, United Way of Central Carolinas, Charlotte Mecklenburg Arts & Science Council, and the UNC-Charlotte Board of Trustees. Mac currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Carolinas Healthcare System and is on the board of Piedmont Natural Gas.
